While in Dallas Texas I had the opportunity once again to spend a powerful and informative day with top earners and mindset coaches. Cedrick Harris and Jeff Combs brought their intensive one day coaching workshops to the great lonestar state of Texas. There many learned techniques, strategies and even great mental exercises to improve their memory as a interpersonal skill for marketing and prospecting. The room was charged with eagerness, enthusiasm and energy to say the least. But one great lesson was still left to be taught and it would delivered on the next day after the event would end.

I met a gentleman online in one of my social media circles; his name, Curtis Toombs and we starting sharing comments, thoughts, updates  and posts. Little did I know he actually lived in the Dallas Ft Worth area. After the event I sent a few updates using the hotel internet cafe indicating how amazing the workshop was. Curtis then mentioned that he  really would have liked to attended and then he asked when I would return home. I told him that my flight was not scheduled to leave until late the next day, to which I jokingly suggested that he come on by the hotel seeing as I had quite a lot of time to kill. Well what happened really amazed me. He actually called me that morning to say they would come on over to visit. Guess what ? They actually showed up! Curtis and his beautiful wife drove across their great state and city to spend the afternoon with me.  Wow! He and his wife paid me not only a (compliment) in that three hour visit, but  taught me an eve greater lesson. It is this:  that making genuine and authentic connections really do matter. You see had I not taken the time to talk, share and connect with Curtis weeks before, I don’t  believe he would  have made the inconvenient drive. But he did and I was truly moved by this act of kindness and friendship. We had a wonderful time getting to know each other, telling stories and inspiring and building each other in a very refreshing way. For me this was simply the icing on the cake of an already powerful weekend.They made the trip to Dallas all the more memorable and it all started becasue of an online connection.

Never ignore the the fact that connecting with people really matter. Take the time to focus on others and be interstesd in what they are doing. You just never know when someone might drive across their city, state or country to spend a few hours with you. This what social media and the real traits of an attraction marketing leaders is all about.
