I’m going to put a pervasive myth to rest, right here right now in this blog post. It’s one that plagues the mlm world. You see by changing the way we see certain things or look at old ideas, we can get the breakthrough we so desperately desire.
So if you ready to have and keep more in 2011….buckle up and let’s go.
Many of us as successful network marketing reps and leaders like myself have always and will continue to extol the massive differences from mlm vs a job BUT today I want to shed some light, fresh perspective, unveil the truth and bust a myth that has been keeping 96 plus percent in the industry cyclically struggling. Why do most well-intentioned reps start & stop. Launch and miss. Begin wholeheartedly and fail miserably. The reason I will uncover as you keep reading.
While the results one can earn from their network marketing opportunity are completely different from working a job for 40 yrs, their are dashing similarities that if outlined carefully can make more people wealthy if they adjust their thinking. If a few more reps only do some of what they do in a job and put it int their mlm, the results they will start experiencing will be astronomical. I wont extol those differences in this post but any person with half a ounce of logic and rationale can see that earning more in less time and controlling these two things is what network marketing is all about Why? Simply, our industry is endorsed by these leading top power house social players. The # 1 financial author of all times, Robert Kiyosaki, the biggest brand success of modern times and owner of real estate, Donald Trump and the undeniably richest business owner and investor of the last 20 years Mr.Warren Buffet
Any one to challenge that fact, is simply uninformed with the current times and our industry.
So here a 10 things for you or your team to consider if you truly want to change your mindset and your network marketing results. Remember also that most are ALREADY doing these things daily, weekly, monthly and yearly. However by transferring these same (job) things over into your business, you will start to see what I have come to realize as well as other top earners now free from jobs.
The reasons why a job and a building a mlm are similar is…
1. You Have To Show Up: This is not an option and if you refuse to, you’re done. As a matter of fact just to get hired/positioned you have to meet someone at your company. Jobs only work when you show and the same is true of mlm.
2. You Have To Keep Showing Up: None of this one shot deal, to continue maintaining a role of success where you get paid you have to be there consistently.
3. You Have To Do Work: Ahh the dreaded “four’ letter word, Work. Yes you have to actually put out effort. No if’s and’s or but’s…If most people only put 10% of the effort they put into their jobs into their business, they’d retire from their jobs sooner with high passive income…it takes work and there is no replacement for the work! Okay Nuff said here.
4. You Have To Get Trained: What you lack in numbers you make up in skill holds true even in a job. Most companies are committed to training their team, department leaders and new hires. You cannot escape or excuse yourself out of training . Usually the highest paid people in the jobs have highly developed skills sets and it is that way in network marketing as well.
5. You Have To Train Others More Times Than Not: That skill set you develop must be passed on to others if that company will grow and remain a thriving enterprise. If you refuse to train others, you most likely will be eliminated.
6. You Can’t Make Excuses When You Don’t Like The Way It Feels: Feelings was a great Streisand song but mean nothing in jobs and business, folks! In the realm of jobs this doesn’t even factor into a considered equation. You want to be paid, you show up, do the work regardless of how you feel, weather, or if the dog has fleas. Making excuses in a job is unacceptable to the end goals and so it is business ownership. Period! If you make excuses you’ll be making them at home with no income very quickly.
7. The Money Isn’t Automatic: Just gong to the office and sitting at your desk looking busy at the computer screen, starring at the folders or straightening your desk will not produce income for you. Do that for half a minute and just see what happens to your salary. The money comes in exchange for producing and creating value for your firm or team and it is again consistent with network marketing.
8. People May Not Like What You Chose For a Job Field or Career : Who cares what others think about you or your choice of career path?? The bottom line is they aren’t paying your mortgage, insurance, food day care etc. We all get that but why do most let other people opinions about their business ownership carry so much weight with them. So much so that they forfeit millions.
9. The Why You Work a Job For 40 Years Is The Same For Networkers. Most people’s “why” or reason is in fact their family and children. And for this reason they stay at it, Years and years they stay at it. Millions of people over lifetimes do painful things long-term without questioning the intelligence, hardship or negotiating the cost of the job.
10. When People Lose Their Jobs, They Always Blame The Job: This is a brilliant (not) line of reasoning that throngs of people have used and still hold on to. When people mess up a thing they blame the thing. Listen when you screw up, own up. Usually the gal or guy starring back at you in the mirror is the culprit. But it’s always less painful to accept responsibility. Running a business is no different..it is in your hands. Always remember this statement, if it is to be it’s up to me and this is stands for jobs and network marketing.
Can you see the similarities now? Everyone one always thinks jobs and building a network marketing business is so so very different, but the truth is, it really is quite the same basic skills, fundamentals and over all attitude. Just as one MUST be 100% be committed to having and seeing any results as in their their jobs (traditionally) is the same to have 7 see results in their primary opportunities. If you;re still working a job and you begin to give your business the same level of respect and effort as your job, watch the results increase.
Now obviously the rewards that come from time invested in building network marketing is astronomically different, just ask me any other top earner…but that wasn’t our topic here today. It was the similarities we often overlook and never emphasize. That result can be summed up in two words RESIDUAL INCOME.
