How To Become a More Inspiring Person in Your Business for 2012

When I think about real network marketing success I cannot help but include this word called INSPIRATION in the dialogue. But inspiration is not an abstract opaque word, it is a real thing that people do that makes all the difference. It is the way in which you make others feel by what you do. Most of the time it is why you do it. Today we want to explore how to become a person who leads through inspiration and not just education. A person who connects with others in a human way not just by “what you do” but “why you do it” If you don’t know how to be inspring in your marketing and team building, it’s time to learn. So many reps inisde of network marketing are great at all the A-B-C’s and 1-2-3′s but suck at being real and showing their human side. I believe that being technically great at your business while being an inspring leader are not mutually exclusive – it’s a mandatory a combination.

So how does one inspire someone? Is there a ebook you can download or is there a 3 step process to this subject? On the contrary it’s a little more involved than that. It is where you must ask yourself “Who are the most inspiring people I know and why do they inspire others?” You will find that they are typically ordinary people who have either achieved or overcome some extra-ordinary life event. Some physical challenges and others emotional. We’ve all been amazed, astounded by the perfectly groomed Olympic athletes and the elite in any field; but aren’t we not more inspired by the ordinary man, woman or child reaching deep inside and pulling something out of the depths of their heart and soul and attainig victory. We all connect with the underdog don’t we? Inspiration is simple. Not neccessarily devine but rare, unique, distinct, heroic, precious…remarkable. You know it when you see it, you know it by the way you feel encouraged to push forward even in the face of your own personal life’s adversity. Inspiration doesn’t take much because as humans we all have the equipment to do it, we just need to start doing it. I call it fanning the flame as opposed to flicking the switch and at times all it takes is stricking a match. It isn’t as much transactional as it thermal.

Most of us do not set out to be inspiring but rather motivating especially in the realm of mlm day in day out business. While motivation is head space thing and can be very logical, inspiration many times just happened. It flows and powerfully wthout logic or reason. What it does have, similar to motivation is the deep impact but carries a immense effect on us all. We are moved. So here are some points to consider on how to be more inspiring as we build our businesses and move people.

  • Live like no one is  paying you to live your life. Own it authentically.
  • Remind yourself that your team is always watching, judging, caring,evalutating and behave accordingly as a leader.
  • Live life as though every thought, action, emotion, reaction, decision and passion mattered – because it really does matter.
  • Never criticize, always support and encourage your reps.
  • Embrace the bad times as warmly as the good. Ask what can I learn from this?
  • Keep your darkest moments and thoughts to yourself until they are history and you’ve learned the lesson they were meant to teach you. Then share the story and the lesson with your team as a one of victory.
  • Be humble – no matter what.
  • Don’t let praise go to your head or criticism go to your heart. Start fresh daily.
  • Treat every rep, whether you know them or not, no matter what their station, title in life, with 100% respect.
  • Remember clothes, money, titles and status don’t make the man/woman – character does.
  • Give every rep the benefit of the doubt.
  • Assume love and let go of hate.
  • Never take anything personally and remember that no matter how a rep treats you, it’s all about them and their perception/problems and not about you.
  • Be generous and remember, you’re NEVER too poor to be helpful, generous or kind. Set a good example of generosity.
  • Be grateful and thankful for what you have already received.
  • Be positive when no one else is.
  • Be persistent and consistent
  • Don’t fear failure, instead,conquer it.

You see you don’t have to do world shaking things to inspire someone. You simply have to rise above your own personal trials in an extraordinary manner. Overcome the challenge, learn the life lesson, share it sincerelt or simply let it fuel you to carry on. What you will come to realize is tis: You will stand out and others will mark you as “inspirational” They will remember YOU and your actions will ripple and resonate in eveything you do (not just when you show the business presentation.) Oh yes your presentation will rock but you will be the one they rememeber and want to work with long term.

Try adding some inspiration to your tasks, to your interactions, your trainings, your blog,etc and mix into your words when speaking to your prospects and team. I cannot wait for you to see with your own eyes the differnce it can make!

Why You Shouldn’t be Afraid to Present & Why PBR ‘s Are The Answer

Are you a scared rep? C’mon, be honest. Are you one of them? Look we’ve all been there…

Quite seriously though, many reps in my company & (I’m sure yours) in general inside of network marketing are scared to pieces. Scared of what? THIS. They’re afraid to present their business to others. Actually scratch that word. There actually terrified to actually do what I’m actually going to show you.  Show what you ask? -a simple and effective idea called a PBR

A PBR refers to as a “private business reception. And in my primary company its where a few local reps gather together to share business information in a very casual setting ie a boardroom, a cafe or better yet a home setting. To be quite honest PBR’s are where magic inside of network marketing happens.  But it’s a lost art today. With so many online tools and techy substitutions it’s overlooked and under-valued as key strategy to produce massive results. Ironically though many top producers and mlm leaders agree 100% a PBR’s is still an effective way to expose, engage, explode and create duplication in your team or organization. You see the reality is ANY rep who wants success must embrace leadership. (They will have to personally grow by developing themselves) They will have to face this challenge, but the good news is it’s an incredibly rewarding one. One where you can get up in front a few people at first, then a smaller crowd after and eventually a larger forum to share your opportunity. By that time you will be dynamic. Doing PBR’s regularly sharpens your  skills and promotes the same across your team. It’s where real success in network marketing is born, where dynamic leadership is honed and where great people skills are sharpened.

5 Tips To Help Your Team Gain Better Mental Business Nutrition

While shopping for some organic fruits & vegetable in a local grocery store the other day, I got to thinking. What we not only put into our bodies – but also our minds. This video is a simple  reminder about what we also should be putting put into our minds. As network marketing leaders the idea transcends to just literal food to mental nourishment. So goes the leaders’ mind, so goes the teams’

Here’s a question. Do you even care about the mental nutrition of your team and business partners? Take a look and be inspired not just to eat differently (as we should) but to think differently, To speak and operate in a much healthier way.

NOTE: It’s actually this core belief and philosophy that transformed a miserably failing company from the brink of disaster to an internationally recognized and historic success. That little company’s name is  Apple.

Principle One: Don’t Follow Your Customers; Lead Them Apple’s design process differs from that of most other companies. Traditional design research relies heavily on focus groups and customer feedback about existing products. Apple tends to place less emphasis on evidence than on intuition, under the theory that consumers can’t tell you they want a product or function if they can’t yet envision it. Instead, they need to be shown a superior alternative. Apple sees itself as being in business to create those revolutionary alternatives.

Principle Two: Temper Engineering With Art Most companies that try to operate like Apple fail. Often that’s because of who they tap to spearhead the creative process. High-tech devices are built by engineers — and often designed by them, too. Unfortunately, engineers tend to design products that they would want to use, which explains why a typical device is jam-packed with a hopelessly confusing array of features. Apple has succeeded by making sure its top decision makers all subscribe to the same minimalist philosophy. The result is that the most-used features of its devices — like the iPod’s famous scroll wheel — feel entirely natural.

Principle Three: Focus on the Few to Sell to the Many Instead of trying to satisfy every fringe taste or market niche — other companies that make laptops, for instance, often sell dozens of models at any given time — Apple focuses on just a few products in each category. With time and money on its side, Apple strives to make each item in its relatively small stable as perfect as possible. Over time, that helps differentiate the products and build customer loyalty.

Principle Four: Be Your Own Toughest Critic The final ingredient to Apple’s success is an intangible energy and interest in doing well. And if the company ever lets that vitality go, it’s game over. (That’s what almost happened during the 1990s, before Jobs returned to provide a vital kick start.) Ultimately, Apple succeeds because it not only beats its competitors but also strives each year to beat itself. As management guru Peter Drucker noted long ago, “Your being the one who makes your products, process, or service obsolete is the only way to prevent your competitor from doing so.” In the process of trying to outdo itself, Apple often leaves its competition in the dust.

That was just some extra info on Apple’s amazing success and culture they created. But hey, let’s get back to the point of his blog. Your you and your team’s mindset.Here are 3 things you can start doing around your team to get on a path to better mental business nutrition:

1) Speak Positive About Them: Always speak positive around your group and never negative. As a rule of thumb you should ask yourself before you say it, Do I want what I am saying right now to manifest in my team? If the answer is “No” then don’t utter it. Only speak words you want duplicated and what you want to have and you’ll foster a healthy team mindset.

2) Expect The Best For You & Them: Always remember we do not get what we want, we get what we expect. If you expect your team to perform, speak, present and operate lousy, they will. Expectation is a self- fulfilling prophecy and it works in the positive and the negative. Be a good finder and positive expectant upline. All great leaders act like a thermostat for their group. Not just for excitement but also for their business mentality. By doing this, you’ll be setting the temperature and tempo of your team in the healthiest fashion.

3) Promote PMA Books To Them: All smart leaders read. They read not just to read but to learn. They are constantly expanding their mental real estate and thereby increasing it’s value. If you are a rising leader and commit up your learning through reading then the IQ and intelligence of your group will follow suit. It’s an amazing phenomenon and truly rewarding when you see your leaders improve right before your eyes.

4) Let Them  Celebrate Their Growth & Vocalize Their Dreams: Make a practice to have your reps  share their growthat specific times. It may seem to you and others a minuscule detail  or a mute point, but take time to do this. I assure you it will build the entire team. So give them time to celebrte their achievements. Also allow to speak about their dreams and goals. When you let them vocalize this type of talk I refer to as “future talk” It inspires and raises their belief to begin performing at a whole a new level.

5) Keep Your Mental Business Growth Improving: The final point here is for you (as the leader) Nothing speaks greater volume than being a good example of all we have discussed. You make sure you speak positive. You ensure you expect the best for yourself. Personally celebrate your own victories, cast your own vision .Just be the example for them to follow.
